HomeStar Windows warrants to the original purchaser/property owner (“Owner”) and, if any, Owner’s immediate transferee, that any window and or sliding patio door provided by HomeStar will remain free from defects in material and labor for as long as the Owner or Owner’s immediate transferee resides in the home.
Installation/Labor/Caulking Warranty – HomeStar warrants the proper installation of all windows and sliding doors in accordance with indsutry standards, local building codes and manufacturer’s specifications. This warranty includes caulking. HomeStar guarantees lifetime maintenance of deteriorated caulking or sealants used in the installation process.
Vinyl Parts Warranty- The vinyl components of the window will not blister, peel rot or corrode.
Mechanical Parts Warranty- All mechanical parts (locks, vent locks, balances) are warranted to be free from manufactured defects in material and workmanship.
Insulated Glass Warranty- The sealed, insulated, glass unit is warranted against defects resulting in material obstruction of vision from fild formation caused by dust or moisture in the dead air space of the sealed unit. If the glass unit fails, HomeStar will ensure complete replacement with a new insulated glass unit.
Glass Breakage Warranty- HomeStar will provide full replacement of the insulated glass unit in the event of accidental glass breakage. Exclusions listed below apply.
Screen Warranty- HomeStar will replace any damaged screen frames, pull tabs, and screen mesh. Sliding patio doors screens are excluded.
Transferable Warranty- This warranty may be transferred to the Owner’s immediate transferee provided the transferee notifies the Company, in writing, at the address below within 30 days of the property’s transfer date. The correspondence must include a transfer fee of $25, the original Owner’s name and address, and the transferee’s name and address.
General Limitations and Exclusions:
- Acts of God (hurricanes, tornadoes, flood etc.), acts of war, riots, fire, building settlement, modifications, and vandalism are not covered by this warranty.
- Color variance may occur between replacement parts and weathered original material.
- This warranty is exclusively for windows and sliding patio doors installed by the Company. Any additional products, such as entry doors, installed by the Company, in conjunction with the window contract/ installation will carry the warranty provided by the manufacturer.
- This warranty does not apply to rental properties. Rental properties will recieve a 10-year warranty with the same warranty coverage as noted above except for the screen warranty. No screen warranty is provided to rental properties.
NOTE: Many features of this warranty may be covered by and performed by the Manufacturer of the window. See the manufacturer’s warranty certificate to determine warranties provided by the Manufacturer.
